- Listening To Saves The Day-Freakish
But you know, it's the best ache in the world.
I'm going to skip right over Wednesday and Thursday because they were boring and can be summed up with one word: Work. I did get the news that Track IX will be performing at the Harborfest Battle of the Bands. Awesomeness.
Friday was pretty kick ass, if I do say so myself. I had work, but none of the kids were overly obnoxious, plus it was pizza Friday, and Josh had the kids bring extra money, so he got me an ice cream cake, which was totally unnecessary, but very nice. I got home, hung around for a bit, then Stanistreet and Geoff came and got me to go the last Raz Sum show ever. Tom, Geoff, Eric, Steve, Nate, Paul, and Connor were nice enough to pay my cover as a birthday present. When we got there some guy with an acoustic guitar was there, and he wasn't half bad, but I really was not in the mood for acoustic crap, I was there for ska. Before Magic Goat went up some girl came up to me absolutely convinced that she knew who I was, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen her before in my life, she was pretty cool though, so it was all good. Magic Goat went on and rocked hXc style. I officially love them, but unfortunately not many people were dancing to them, which was a shame. Whatever, Magic Goat rocks, and everyone should listen to them. The Flatliners showed up really late, so the Flaming Tsunami's were up next. They were insane, I was right up to the stage for most of their set, only venturing into the pit once, where I got elbowed in the throat, still totally worth it. I got a shirt and a CD from them. A sound investment, I believe.
I have decided that Raz Sum deserves their own paragraph, because they were so amazing. I only recently started listening to them, so I didn't know all the songs they played, but I knew a lot of them. I skanked to almost every one, and let me tell you, nothing brings people together like dancing like complete idiots. I heart ska. Unfortunately for them, the PA kept fucking up, and I felt bad, because this was their last show ever. For the last few songs people rushed the stage, and I got up there for "Puberty" and got the chance to sing the chorus with a bunch of other people into the mic. It was just so fucking awesome. It was definitely one of the best shows I have ever been too. Just fucking great.
And then there was yesterday, my grad party. I hate parties, I completely despise them, I have no idea as to why, but I do. My mom made me have it, and I had to interact with all my Dad's family that I don't like. Those losers that I have a tendency to hang out with showed up at random intervals, which was cool. Sadly, they are the people that keep me sane, I don't know how that is possible seeing as how they are all crazy, but I don't question it. I played a bunch of DDR, and I got money. Woo.
